Our Association

Shaft Women's Rights Association was founded in Portugal by individuals committed to advancing women's rights and promoting gender equality on local, national, regional, and international levels. Our mission is to ensure that women can participate as free individuals and equal citizens in all aspects of life, while actively monitoring and advocating for gender equality policies worldwide.

We strive to eliminate discrimination and prejudices, foster social cooperation and solidarity, and bring together those who seek solutions to social challenges. A key focus of our work is to develop and enhance public policies on gender equality, ensuring their effectiveness and widespread implementation.

Our association takes a holistic approach to women's rights, addressing critical issues such as violence against women, education, economic and legal rights, reproductive rights, and women' rights. By engaging in women's platforms and coalitions globally, we actively work to improve national legislation and international mechanisms that protect and empower women.

With a diverse and multidisciplinary team, including academics, university students, computer engineers, social workers, psychologists, and teachers, we bring varied perspectives and expertise to our work. This diversity enables us to develop innovative and inclusive approaches to gender equality and social justice.

Our vision is a world where all forms of oppression and domination—especially those rooted in the patriarchal system—are dismantled, and absolute gender equality prevails. We believe that women’s rights are fundamental human rights and that true equality can only be achieved through systematic, continuous, and collective efforts at every level of society.
